The Halo Effect
October 2nd, 2007 by alienmeatsackWell. Halo 3 arrived with a bang. The big one. The kahuna. The mamajamma.
And sadly, it is not Bungie’s finest, nor is it what it should be.
- First off, the single player story mode is short. People are finishing it on the hardest setting in 4P coop mode in 5 hours. And 10-12 alone.
- It’s buggy as hell. I’ve found lots of problems, graphical glitches, and a few heart breakers. Like the one that killed my Solo game save. Or the problem where you can get stuck on a level and have to restart the level all the way over.
- It’s NOT that great looking compared to Bioshock or similar. Isn’t a MS/Bungie game of this magnitude supposed to be mind fucking blowing visually?
I am letdown guys. You let me down before. Remember when you signed on with Microsuck? Yeah, I know you know you let me down. Halo 1 was good, and you redeemed yourselves with that, as well as H2. but H3 is just not up to snuff.
You know how I know this? Because I do not have the “Man I cannot WAIT to get HOME to play!!!” feeling. Hell, I have to make myself play. And that makes me sad. I should have the same feeling that Crackdown, Gears, Oblivion, Forza 2, and Bioshock had. Where I think all day about getting home to play.
But… nope. I don’t even care if i finish it or if I play. Maybe after some 4P Coop I might be excited. Who knows.
Fan bois, sorry doods. I earned my right to bitch at Bungie. I was there during their Mac days. Pathways, Marathon, Myth, etc. I paid good money for all of their original games and played them endlessly, I earned the right to bitch when they sold out. And now I earned the right after plunking down my hard earned $60 to bitch that Halo 3 is not the best game out there.
And it should be. Dammit, it should be.
Bioshock kicks Halo 3’s ASS. Period.
